In Loving Memory
This page is dedicated to the cherished cats who have graced Ri Dearg Koons with their love, beauty, and unforgettable personalities. Each one left pawprints not only on our hearts but on the legacy of our cattery. Though they are no longer with us, their spirit, warmth, and the joy they brought to our lives continue to live on in the generations that follow.
Here, we honor their memory with gratitude for the time we shared and the love they gave so freely.
In Memorium
Angel
Angel was my tiny 6-pound songbird — a beautiful domestic medium-haired tabby with a voice that could rival an opera singer. She filled the house with her melodies and deep, motorboat purrs, leaving behind the sweetest echo of love and joy.
Smokie
Smokey was Bryndee’s beloved brother, a sweet young soul whose time with us was far too short. He passed away from a tragic obstruction caused by PICA, just one day before his first birthday. Though his life was brief, he left an unforgettable mark on our hearts with his gentle spirit and quiet presence. He will always be remembered and deeply missed.
Little One
Little One was truly the heart of my home and the constant companion who walked with me through life’s biggest seasons. She lived to 18½ years old and passed from complications of hyperthyroidism, leaving behind a legacy of love that still lingers in every memory.
She moved with me from Denver to Houston in 1989 and was by my side through marriage, divorce, and the loss of my mother. Little One was incredibly smart, loyal, and uniquely bonded to me, always perched on my shoulder, her favorite place to be. Her presence was a comfort, her affection unwavering, and her loss is felt deeply. She will forever be my shoulder rider and my brave, brilliant girl.
DingDing
DingDing was my little apple-headed Siamese girl, a tiny treasure who came into my life when a neighbor brought her to me at barely 2–3 weeks old. I bottle-fed her from the start, and from that moment on, she became one of my sweetest lifelong companions. She lived 15 beautiful years before cancer took her far too soon.
DingDing was full of quirks and charm, an absolute clown in the best way. She somersaulted across the floor trying to catch her mischievous tail, dunked her toy balls in the water bowls as if she were baptizing them, and zoomed around the house making her funny “me-me-me-me” noises. That silly spirit earned her the perfect nickname: my goofy little “ding-a-ling.”
Her joy, her antics, and her tender beginnings made her unforgettable. Though she is gone, the laughter she brought into my life still echoes lovingly in her memory.
